BEST COFFEE IN NOLA!! I’d give it ten if I could! This place is an absolute treasure (pun fully intended). The coffee? Strong, bold, and delicious — exactly what a proper pirate crew would need before setting sail. The staff was incredible, friendly, and totally committed to the vibe. And the shop itself? It felt like stepping into a piece of living history. The decor, the atmosphere, the attention to detail — I was genuinely in awe. Whether you’re a coffee lover, a history nerd, or just someone who wants the most unique café experience of their life, this is your port of call. I’ll definitely be back. 🏴‍☠️☕

Almost walked right past this place but so glad we didn’t. The place smells like coffee heaven , has an incredible selection of flavors, and the literal nicest man working there. The shop is so awesomely decorated with cool pirate decor and merch and make sure you check out the Captain’s Quarters. This one of the best coffees we had in the city. Highly recommend.

Ahoy there, ye salty dogs and weary travelers of the land! I sailed into this fine coffee haven lookin’ for a simple brew, and shiver me timbers, I struck gold! The iced lattes be nothin’ short o’ legendary — smooth as polished oak on a captain’s deck, with espresso bold enough to wake the dead and milk so creamy it could charm a kraken. One sip and I was ready to unfurl the sails and conquer the horizon. Absolute perfection in a cup! Their merchandise be proper treasure too! Sturdy mugs that could withstand cannon fire and clever shirts with designs that’d make any pirate king (or queen) proud enough to trade a chest o’ doubloons for. But the true highlight o’ this cove be the barista — a fierce lass with fire in her eyes and a grin sharper than a cutlass. She moves behind that counter like she’s commandin’ her own ship through a gale: quick, confident, and full o’ spirit. That lass could’ve easily been a pirate captain in another life — maybe even Anne Bonny herself reincarnated, slingin’ espresso instead of swingin’ from the riggin’. She’s got the soul of a buccaneer, and it made the visit feel like a grand adventure. If ye be huntin’ for excellent iced lattes, fine merchandise, and service from a barista with true pirate blood in her veins, drop anchor here without delay!

Pirate King Coffee is such a great spot! The coffee is excellent, Sam was quick and kind— she really knows what she’s doing. And not to mention the awesome selection of T-shirts and merchandise. They have a great variety with unique designs that are actually worth checking out. The atmosphere is another highlight—quiet, relaxed, and perfect whether you’re catching up on work, reading, or just enjoying a cup of coffee. Friendly service, a welcoming vibe, and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend!

A Pirate themed Coffee shop tucked down a walking only st. The atmosphere is as unique as the staff. We snuggled up in the 2.large leather chairs to enjoy our coffee.

The best coffee in the French Quarter, possibly the city! I threw out my hotel coffee and only came here for the rest of our trip. It’s centrally located, open earlier and later than every other coffee spot in the quarter. Plus it has a pirate shop and mini museum dedicated to the pirate Jean Lafitte. The vibes are chill and badass. The baristas are always nice and are eager to educate guests about coffee if they have the time. Sam does awesome latte art too! The secret might be out though, it can get pretty busy on the weekends especially, but it’s worth the wait!

I really loved the rich flavors of the pirate king iced coffee. They have a selection of flavors with interesting names. Each name/option had several flavors in one that created the unique drink.

A fully themed pirate coffee shop in a relatively calm alley. The array of specialty flavors is great (year round PSL!), with fun piratey names. The syrups are VERY sweet, which works well in the heat but if you’re not into that much sweetness you might want to ask for it to be toned down. Most of the indoor space is devoted to t-shirt sales (and oddly a bedroom), but there is outdoor seating.
